We’re in search of a mission-driven, tech-savvy, and innovative Controller eager to make a significant impact on our Hospice and Non-Profit clientele. With the aid of cutting-edge applications and programs, you will provide unparalleled guidance and support to our senior leaders and non-profit board members, enhancing their financial strategies and operational excellence.
Our firm specializes in offering outsourced Chief Financial Officer services to New York State Non-Profit Hospice organizations. In this role, you will oversee financial management and reporting for both Hospice and other Non-Profit Organizations. Beyond the primary responsibilities of a Controller, you will also impart strategic financial guidance to senior leaders and non-profit board members.
Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight: Oversee all aspects of financial management, including financial reporting, cash flow management, and month-end close activities. Ensure strict adherence to accounting principles and regulations.
Budget Management: Manage the organization’s budget, monitor its financial performance, and provide insightful financial analysis to aid strategic decision-making.
Team Leadership: Lead the accounting team to deliver timely and compliant results for each client organization, ensuring adherence to sales tax regulations, 1099 filings, and other financial obligations.
Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct regular meetings with CEOs and senior management, and present monthly financial results to Finance and Board Committees.
Business Analysis: Perform detailed business analysis to identify growth opportunities and areas requiring improvement.
Transactional Oversight: Review and approve payroll and accounts payable transactions; coordinate with audit teams to ensure compliance and accuracy in annual deliverables.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate completion of all financial documents, including cost reports and tax filings.
Client Relations: Deliver exceptional customer service and foster strong relationships with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
Professional Development: Support staff and intern development through training and mentorship, while actively participating in community-focused team-building initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s Degree preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with a preference for backgrounds in Non-Profit accounting or related Health Care industries.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, suitable for interacting in a professional environment.
- Management experience in leading teams, with the ability to mentor staff and optimize team dynamics
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail, with a proven track record of reliability, confidentiality, and conscientious work habits.
- Proficient time management skills, with the capacity to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to foster client relationships and deliver superior customer service.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online, Brightree/Matrix or other Electronic Medical Record System, and web-based payroll platforms like Gusto and Paylocity.
- Proven expertise in implementing efficient workflows, procedures, and software to enhance organizational effectiveness.
