Accounts Payable Specialist

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide an exceptional level of customer service to both clients and team members creating a high- quality flow of information throughout the firm
  • Ensuring a positive impression of the firm to all clients and guests
  • Directing phone calls to appropriate team members. Providing accurate/meaningful messages when team members are not readily available
  • Process invoices and payments through Bill.com and QuickBooks Online. Researching statement balances and coordination with vendors on efficient payment processing channels.
  • Assisting UB team with tax season preparation and organizing client documentation in the most efficient manner
  • Supporting Tax Clients to ensure all tax documents/ required information received prior to assigning to Tax Preparer
  • Supporting UB team and Tax Clients with completion of tax preparation
  • Provide marketing support to Management. Assisting with social media content that can be shared on UB social media channels

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years in Accounts Payable or Bookkeeping Experience preferred
  • Minimum of Associates Degree in Accounting/Business related field
  • QuickBooks Online Experience preferred
  • General knowledge of accounting practices and business procedures
  • Highly effective written and communication skills that support a professional environment
  • Accuracy and attention to detail with an exceptional level of accuracy is absolutely required, as well as a track record of reliability, confidentiality, and conscientious work habits
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to organize and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to effectively apply analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time managing skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and regular deadlines
  • Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a rapidly changing dynamic environment with deadline pressures

Accounting Specialist

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain records according to general accepted accounting principals including the recordation of general journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and reconciliation of bank statements
  • Data-entering invoices for payment
  • Compiling payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, insurance and 401(k) deductions
  • Compiling and analyzing payroll management reports from payroll software systems
  • Payroll and Tax form preparation
  • Providing an exceptional level of customer service to both clients and team members
  • Problem solving issues and discrepancies in accounting records
  • Analyze and organize financial data into useable information
  • Recording and classifying transactions in accounting software
  • Monthly financial report preparation.
  • Establishing and maintaining confidential employee files and employer/business files
  • Identify and implement new procedures to streamline accounting operations both internally and externally for clients.
  • Highly effective communication skills
  • Assist in preparing/reviewing of personal tax returns during tax season.
  • Additional Accounting related tasks as needed.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Minimum of 1-5 years of accounting experience required
  • Minimum of an Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of accounting practices and procedures
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is absolutely required, as well as a track record of reliability, confidentiality, and conscientious work habits
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • Ability to organize and prioritize effectively
  • Attention to detail with exceptional level of accuracy
  • Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a rapidly changing dynamic environment with deadline pressures
  • Demonstrated ability in dealing directly with clients
  • General understanding of accounting practices and principles
  • Experience with automated accounting programs and systems

Other skills preferred by not required:

  • QuickBooks Online Certified/Experience
  • Payroll Experience
  • Personal Tax Preparation Experience
