Accounting Manager

Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service to clients and team members
  • Supervise, train, and guide high-performing team of accountants in scheduling, project management, and career development
  • Innovate accounting processes to drive efficiency and success for both internal and external clients.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial reports for clients
  • Conduct personalized quarterly meetings with clients to discuss financial reports and recommend financial and tax planning strategies.
  • Handle a diverse range of accounting duties such as data entry, bill payment, payroll processing, account reconciliation, and quarterly tax return preparation
  • Efficiently manage multiple projects and tasks while monitoring time management.
  • Effectively communicate and professional engage with all stakeholders
  • Conduct tax research and document findings
  • Coordinate sales tax filings for clients
  • Prepare and review business and personal tax returns during tax season
  • Perform additional accounting tasks as required

Education/Experience required:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in accounting
  • CPA Certification
  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant and CPA firm experience
  • Self-starter with the ability to handle and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills: Ability to lead, mentor, and coach a team of accountants, delegate tasks, and manage performance effectively
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and strong time management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations
  • Continuous Professional Development: Keeping up to date with industry changes and continuously improving professional skills

Accounting Specialist

 

Universal Bookkeeper, Inc., a rapidly growing modern boutique accounting firm, is looking for an exceptional Accounting Specialist to join our team. Are you passionate about supporting small businesses and helping them to thrive in our local communities?  Do you enjoy being an innovative thinker and utilizing the latest tech savvy apps and programs to create new ways to improve accounting processes? The ideal candidate will join our team of dedicated client account specialists and play a vital role in the accounting and tax support of multiple small businesses.  We are looking for a reliable and precise professional to help us properly maintain our clients’ accounting records while being part of our cultural and supporting the small business community.

Responsibilities include:

  • Bookkeeping and Accounting services for a variety of clients
  • Manage and maintain clients’ payroll records while providing support for DIY payroll clients
  • Prepare payroll, 401K, and tax audits
  • Follow month end close procedures including account reconciliations and variance analysis
  • Prepare monthly financial report packages for clients
  • Manage sales tax and 1099 filing requirements for clients
  • Provide an exceptional level of customer service to both clients and team members that enhances our relationships
  • Problem solve discrepancies in accounting records and financial statement presentation
  • Identify and implement new innovative procedures to streamline accounting operations both internally and externally for clients that promotes professional growth
  • Assist in preparing/reviewing of personal tax returns during tax season.
  • Additional Accounting related tasks as needed.
  • Participate in team building initiatives that support our community

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of accounting experience required
  • Minimum of an Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • Highly effective written and communication skills that support a professional environment
  • Accuracy and attention to detail with an exceptional level of accuracy is absolutely required, as well as a track record of reliability, confidentiality, and conscientious work habits
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and Google Suite
  • Excellent time managing skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and regular deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability in relationship building with clients executing superior customer service
  • General understanding of accounting practices and principles
  • Experience with automated accounting programs and systems

Other skills preferred by not required:

  • Customer service experience
  • QuickBooks Online Certified/experience
  • Payroll experience
  • Personal Tax Preparation experience
  • Working towards CPA/EA Certification

Accounts Payable Specialist

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide an exceptional level of customer service to both clients and team members creating a high- quality flow of information throughout the firm
  • Ensuring a positive impression of the firm to all clients and guests
  • Directing phone calls to appropriate team members. Providing accurate/meaningful messages when team members are not readily available
  • Process invoices and payments through Bill.com and QuickBooks Online. Researching statement balances and coordination with vendors on efficient payment processing channels.
  • Assisting UB team with tax season preparation and organizing client documentation in the most efficient manner
  • Supporting Tax Clients to ensure all tax documents/ required information received prior to assigning to Tax Preparer
  • Supporting UB team and Tax Clients with completion of tax preparation
  • Provide marketing support to Management. Assisting with social media content that can be shared on UB social media channels

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years in Accounts Payable or Bookkeeping Experience preferred
  • Minimum of Associates Degree in Accounting/Business related field
  • QuickBooks Online Experience preferred
  • General knowledge of accounting practices and business procedures
  • Highly effective written and communication skills that support a professional environment
  • Accuracy and attention to detail with an exceptional level of accuracy is absolutely required, as well as a track record of reliability, confidentiality, and conscientious work habits
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel
